On the ball at Mt Clear

We’ve had a long-standing relationship with the Mt Clear Cricket Club and this year commenced another 3-year agreement through our Community Investment Program.

We know how important it is to have our community participating and engaged in local sport and this is just one way we help support it. On field success doesn’t come without a polished engine room and Mt Clear have demonstrated time and time again they are committed to junior development and the promotion of their women’s cricket.

Richard Matters from Club said “in 2022/23 our junior program has again flourished, engaging 130 families and 180 players across 12 teams in the Ballarat Cricket Association. We initiated a new All-Abilities Cricket Program for 6 to 16-year-olds and have again nurtured young talents by establishing our family-friendly Mountie Blasters initiative for 6 to 8 year olds”.

Our contribution has previously helped offset the cost for families to participate in the sport. This year our funding will contribute to club expenses including facility upkeep, equipment, coaching clinics and membership.

“Your support has assisted with the supply of essential equipment for our junior teams and assistance with the cost of team-league affiliation fees has further boosted all our above-stated junior programs’ positive functionality”, Richard said.

Club representatives visited us in branch recently with our very own Mt Clear Cricket Club uniform. Just not sure how easy this one will be to wear!

If your community group or organisation may be interested in applying for Community Investment project funding, ask in Branch for more information, eligibility criteria and/or apply online at www.communitygrowshere.com.au/investment
