At Community Bank Buninyong, we’re proud to have said 'YES' to supporting the Filipino/Australian Association of Ballarat Inc. (FAABI) in preserving Filipino culture through the traditional Tinikling Dance. This project helps the younger generation connect with their heritage while ensuring these traditions are passed down for years to come.
With our funding, the association was able to purchase bamboo poles, bench chairs, costumes, refreshments and cover hall hire costs. This has been crucial for rehearsal and preparation for local performances.
FAABI representative Dionesia Muaje said, "We feel so proud to see the younger generation learning and performing the Tinikling Dance with such dedication. It's heartwarming to see children as young as five taking part and connecting with their heritage."
The young performers have developed a strong sense of pride in their culture and gained recognition for their dedication.
At Community Bank Buninyong, we’re committed to supporting initiatives that celebrate culture, build community and create lasting connections for the next generation.
