Carers Family Day Out

Our Community Bank knows how important it is to provide children in care, and their families, experiences to bond, grow and create deeper relationships. Therefore, we didn’t hesitate to support the Cafs Carer Family Day out at Cave Hill Creek in Beaufort. Our support meant 150 people could attend the day including a family lunch. Most importantly, the day out enabled kids to interact with other children in similar situations, plus experience a range of physical activities that would normally be out of the family budget. The day was as much about creating memories for everyone as anything. Serena Eldridge from Cafs said ‘the day offered children and families a meaningful Christmas gift; the opportunity to create positive memories and interact with children and families with similar lived experiences'. The age range of children attending was between 2 and 18 years of age. The kids indicated that they enjoyed everything, but canoeing was a particular favourite. One carer said ‘this would be the best kinship function that I have EVER attended’.
