Our Community Bank was stoked again to support the Cafs Carer Day Out. "This fun family event delivers significant benefit to our families and children," said Serena Eldridge from Cafs.
The project resonated with all 86 attendees, who enjoyed free activities and a BBQ dinner at Cave Hill Creek. Serena said "connecting principles are about giving attention to the attachment needs of the child", emphasising the importance of creating safe and supportive environments for building connections.
Reflecting on the day’s success, Serena expressed her gratitude for our support and the experiences the children would not normally have the opportunity to participate in. "The reality is that events like this are not covered under existing funding agreements. The Carer Day simply would not be possible without the support of Community Bank,Buninyong”, she said.
Looking ahead, Cafs is determined to continue this bonding tradition. "We've already booked the 2024 Carer Day and will be seeking support to make it another memorable day of joy, connection and support for our Out of Home Care families”, Serena said.
The program was perfectly summed up by a parent attendee who said "I liked the fact that I had the opportunity to meet other carers and talk about things that other people may not understand. I enjoyed watching our children experience activities they haven't tried before and catching up with friends in a beautiful location."
