With our support, Lucas Lifestyle Estate recently hosted its inaugural Art Show. The event was a tremendous success with over double the amount of expected entries and the creation of a new platform for local artists to display their work.
We said 'yes' to the Residents Committee to hire partitions to exhibit over 100 artworks of varying genres and styles. Additionally, our grant contributed to printing costs.
More than 300 people attended the 2-day event, purchasing artwork valued at $8,000. The sales helped the organising committee cover all event-related costs and even generate a small profit
Residents Committee Representative Graham May said "we're elated with the overwhelming response the Art Show received. With 109 artworks on display and the positive feedback from both artists and visitors, the Committee is already planning to organise a similar event in 2024. It's demonstrated the vibrant artistic community in Ballarat and our surrounding areas".
Local members officiated at the opening including State Member of Parliament for Ripon, Ms Martha Haylett MP, Federal Member for Ballarat, Ms Catherine King MP, and Mayor Cr Des Hudson. Our Community Bank Buninyong Chair Ian Corcoran was also at the event.
